"Charging-Ready-Fire"
Before firing, the men had to carry out more than 30 movements of the hand. The pa-per
cartridge must have been bitten and the ball must have been held in mouth until the
powder was trickled in the gun barrel and tamped on the soil with the ramrod. Then
followed the ball before the compressed cartridge paper was stamped with the ramrod
for fixing the ball within the gun barrel. The men moved into position "ready" when
they stood by for firing. Charging the muskets was only possible while the soldiers
were standing upright.
All Privates are available with six different types of headgear. Please make your
choice when ordering.
